Silesian College of Intelligent Science and Engineering, Yanshan University

The Silesian College of Intelligent Science and Engineering (SCISE) is a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution jointly established by Yanshan University（YSU）and the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) in Poland. It is not an independent legal entity and operates under the authorization of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (PRC) (Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education License No.: MOE13PLA02DNR20222282N). The college was approved for establishment in April 2022 and is located in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. The college's undergraduate training program offers four majors: Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation (Major code:080202H), Automation (Major code:080801H), Software Engineering (Major code:080902H), and Electronic Science and Technology (Major code:080702H). In May 2023, the SCISE, Yanshan University obtained the approval from the Ministry of Education to add the qualification for conducting master's degree programs in academic education.

The college currently has over 5,000 square meters of independent teaching facilities and shares other teaching resources of the university. It has a total of 766 students and employs more than 40 high-level teachers with international backgrounds, both full-time and part-time. Additionally, the college has 14 staff members. The undergraduate training program adopts a "4+0" training mode, in which students study at Yanshan University for four years. Those who meet the graduation requirements and degree award conditions will receive a bachelor's degree certificate and a diploma from Yanshan University, as well as a bachelor's degree certificate from the Silesian University of Technology in Poland. During their academic studies, students can choose to study abroad for 1-2 semesters at the Silesian University of Technology in Poland. After graduation, they can apply to continue their master's degree in the same major at Silesian University of Technology or other world-renowned universities for further studies. They are also eligible to apply for Yanshan University's "recommended excellent graduates exemption from entrance examination for postgraduate study" program. The master's degree program adopts a "3+0" training mode, in which students study at Yanshan University for three years. Those who meet the graduation requirements and degree award conditions, and whose thesis evaluation and defense are approved, will receive a master's degree certificate and diploma from Yanshan University, as well as a master's degree certificate from the Silesian University of Technology in Poland.

The college makes full use of the solid professional foundation in corresponding disciplines at Yanshan University, introduces high-quality educational resources from foreign countries, and gradually forms a high-quality teaching and research cluster in the field of intelligent science and engineering. The goal is to cultivate high-level applied professional talents that meet the needs of national and regional development, enhance the internationalization of the university's education, support and develop China-Poland cooperation, promote the realization of the strategic goals of promoting intelligent manufacturing as proposed in "Made in China 2025", and facilitate the innovation and development of the manufacturing industry, thus contributing to the important task of building Hebei Province into a "province with strong intelligent manufacturing".

Yanshan University is a national key university co-constructed by the People's Government of Hebei Province, the Ministry of Education of PRC, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of PRC, and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence, PRC. It is supported by Hebei Province in the development of itself into a national first-class university and a university with world first-class disciplines. Yanshan University is also a member of the Cooperation Consortium of Beijing High Technology Universities.

The Silesian University of Technology was founded in 1945 and is located in the city of Gliwice, Poland. It is a higher education institution supported by the Polish government's"Creation of Europe's Top Research Universities".It is also one of the "Ten Outstanding Research Universities" in Poland, ranks 12th in the national university rankings, and ranks fourth among national technical universities in Poland.
